You can choose to either fly in to Shetland or arrive by sea.
The Northlink ferry is an overnight trip going to and from Aberdeen calling at Kirkwall in Orkney on alternate sailings. https://www.northlinkferries.co.uk/
If you are arriving by plane, Loganair flies to Sumburgh from Aberdeen, Inverness, Kirkwall, Glasgow, Dundee, Edinburgh and Manchester. https://www.loganair.co.uk/
If you are not taking your own vehicle to Shetland there are a number of alternative options for getting around.
A network of buses and ro-ro ferries link up the various villages and islands. Timetables can be found here: https://www.zettrans.org.uk/

Da Crö is a red wooden house at the top of a hill on the south side of the village of Hamnavoe in Burra Isle.
It is about 20 mins. driving time from Lerwick and about 40 mins. driving time from Sumburgh airport.
On Google Maps it is marked as being at the south end of Duke Street.
From the Northlink ferry: 10 miles – approx. 20 mins driving time.
Turn right as you leave the ferry terminal and follow the A970 towards Scalloway and Burra.
After 0.2 mi At the roundabout take the 2nd exit onto the A970.
2.8 mi Turn left towards Scalloway and Burra to stay on the A970.
5.3 mi Turn left onto the B9074 towards Burra. Follow the road across two bridges to get to Burra.
9.1 mi At the top of the hill follow the road around to the right towards Hamnavoe.
After approx. 0.5 miles you will be at the top of a road leading downhill towards the pier with the lighthouse ahead of you.
Just 50 meters down the hill take the sharp left turn and follow the road to the top of the hill.
Da Crö is the red wooden house at the top of the hill.
Park on the tarmac at the nearest end of the house and we will welcome you in!
From Sumburgh airport: 29 miles – approx. 40 mins driving time
Leave the airport terminal and drive for 0.7 miles then take the first right to The North / Lerwick onto the A970.
22.4 mi Turn left onto the B9073 towards Scalloway and Burra.
23.9 mi Turn left onto the A970 towards Scalloway and Burra.
24.8 mi Turn left onto the B9074 towards Burra. Follow the road across two bridges to get to Burra.
28.7 mi At the top of the hill follow the road around to the right towards Hamnavoe.
