About us

Who we are:

We are Alyson and Andrew Halcrow and we have been lucky enough to live at Da Crö for the past 20 years.

Andrew is from Hamnavoe and has stayed here most of his life apart from when he was sailing around the world in his home built yacht.

Alyson is originally from the Peak District via Plymouth, Blairgowrie and The Hebrides. She has cycled across Europe and used to run sea kayak symposiums in Lochmaddy.

A sea change:

When our children all left home we were left with a half empty house. Several of our family, who had visited, had suggested it would make a fantastic holiday home and this spurred us on to get started.

Now having both retired we have the time to dedicate to making sure you have a wonderful stay!

Alyson has MS and we know how difficult it is to find accessible holiday accommodation when we travel. That was a major factor in deciding to make Da Crö wheelchair accessible. 

However, Da Crö is available to all.

Staying here:

Da Crö is a wonderfully relaxing place, especially in the late afternoon and evening when the sun swings round to the west. You can sit out on the patio with your favourite tipple and watch the world go slowly past.
